Endo has added 20mcg of t3 to my usual 100mcg of t4. I've read where respected Endos would say 2 - 10% t3 to t4?
Is this too much t3? : Endo has added 20mcg of t... - Thyroid UK
Is this too much t3?
You have possibly also read of people here on T3-only?
The right amount of T3 (and T4) is whatever makes to as well as possible. Maybe a tiny dose of T3 would help some people, but it is pretty certain it would not be enough for others.
Bear in mind that people taking desiccated thyroid will usually be getting close to 4 T4 to 1 T3. And many seem fine on that - some need more T3, some need more T4.

Thanks for your reply. What do you think I should do?
I have no experience of taking T3. It might be better to follow those who do have that experience!
However, your endo seems to be co-operative and helpful in even trying - so I'd probably try to do as suggested. After all, I also don't know much of your medical history, etc. so anything I say is a bit of a guess.

I agree. Much easier than having to try and work it out yourself! The doctor sounds like he is adding a reasonable dose of T3 so it will hopefully see an improvement. Some people need more T3 than others and the amount you need may vary from time to time.
It is great to hear of an open minded doctor who is willing to try combination therapies
Wishing you all the very best with it, Yellow.

The more I reduced levo and increased T3 the better I became.
I am taking 175mcg T3. I was on 100mcg but noticed I needed an increase as it is now Winter. T3 is just right for me.T4 and NDT didn't work for me at all.
