Been bleeding for 17 weeks now. non stop. Blood test comes back normal. They put me on the mini pill to stoo it. That didn't work. Now fitted a coil. Though doctor said may not work. As I don't know what's causing this.

You may still be undermedicated. Female problems is another clinical symptom of hypothyroidism. Never mind the doctor saying that your blood test is normal - if you can get a copy of your latest thyroid gland blood tests, complete with the ranges, and post them on a new question if you don't have them to hand at present.

This is a link for your information from Dr Lowe. Dr Skinner says in his book - the Diagnosis and Management of Hypothyroidism that many women have hysterectomies which may be unnecessary.:-

If I were you I would be getting an iron test done a.s.a.p. 17 weeks is a long time and your iron levels have most probably been compromised.

I would have thought that the coil would make heavy bleeding worse - that's what one of the side effects, surely?
