Iv`e just seen the practice nurse at my new doctor`s surgery, & he weighed me, the results were amazing, I`m down to 58 kg, about 9 stone. I haven`t been that light in 10 or 15 years. It shows that my weight issues weren`t down to my age, but thyroid! I thought that I was stuck with my extra weight for the rest of my life.
Great news from practice nurse.: Iv`e just seen... - Thyroid UK
Great news from practice nurse.
That's fantastic news and hope for the rest of us!
Give us a bit more hope and tell us you are only on levo - there are not many levo only success stories on here (most probably because if you are o.k. on levo you don't look for sights like this one), although I am levo only and doing well (not with my weight though).
Moggie x
do you mind me asking how old you are, how long you've been on medication, which medication and quantity and how long it's taken you to lose weight and how much have you lost? thanks, like Moggie i'm hoping for a Levo only answer!
I`m 60 years old, & the last time I got weighed at the doctors surgery, I was 70kg, about 11stone. That came as a terrible shock to me because that`s the heaviest that I`ve ever been in my life. Dieting only took off a stone, & took forever. I thought that I was going to have to live with extra weight for the rest of my life, & it`s such a relief to know that I won`t.
Well done to you. I can just imagine how pleased you are. How did you do it if dieting only took off a stone? My all time greatest dieting success ever was when I was first diagnosed with Graves but sadly it isn't a diet that I would recommend to anyone.
Levothyroxine 50mg.
