Free T4 19 and free T3 2.4 sounds like very poor conversion. I suspect you may not feel much better on an increased dose of Levo, because of this. How are you feeling now?

I have been looking at your other posts and you speak about figures and results but don't actually say how you are feeling - what symptoms are you having, which are the most worrying for you?

We all have come to realise that although test results can give some idea of what is happening, it is how we feel which is most important.

Jan,

looking at those results, to me seems obvious. You do not need more T4 high anyway. When the results get to that, if FT3 low, it is, then you need some T3. T3 often best near the top of range, never over, so frequent tests Especially 6 weeks after starting it..

I suspect GP reluctant because your TSH is lowish.I would ask for a 3 months trial of T3, not more T4.

Regarding Vit D, if low ,it should be from a GP after a corrected calcium test, it can make the calcium too high, over range must never happen. It is possible you may need calcium with the D, depends on results, normal treatment for Osteoporosis, NICE, unless contra indicated , like in my case. You also need calcium and D tested in 3 months to check the levels.D does help the thyroid as hormonal.

Best wishes,

Jackie.

Hi That is the best way, but make sure you have regular bloods for Ca and D. I am assuming you had a DEXA? Now you have to chase them up , yourself, through GP. I have to have mine six monthly as very severe and on osteoporosis treatment. However, I expect if that is your treatment it is Osteopenia, which can, of course, progress to full blow. I think the tests at that stage is 3 years, may be longer. Used to be automatic recall, not now.

Best wishes,

Jackie
