Further Info - My TSH has gone from 0.26 to 0.07 in 1 year. while my t3 and t4 have remained static. My endo thought I may be hyperthyroid so I am really confused now the surgeon says I am underactive? Havent started taking them yet as not sure he is treating me correctly? do I need anything? Thanks very much for any help:)

We really, really need the reference ranges - especially FT4 and FT3. And the actual test results.

Without them we are guessing - and if you have actually been tested that should not be necessary.

Can't tell anything without ranges.

Well TSH doesn't tell you whether you are overactive, that's T3. Your T3 would be good if the ranges were the ones my lab uses, but your T4 would be low. Falling TSH when others aren't high might mean a pituitary problem or what is often called Non-Thyroidal Illness Syndrome.

I have a benign multinodular goitre. Ref Ranges are TSH 0.27-4.20mIU/L T3 3.10-6.80pmol/L T4 10 - 20 pmol/L. Sorry for not providing earlier:) Thanks for any help :))

I had a benign goitre back in the last century. It made me hyper. My understanding of a goitre is that your thyroid is enlarged and making way more hormone than your body needs. So to me it sounds counter-intuitive that you should be treated for being hypo. How do you feel? Are you running hot? Losing weight? Got tons of energy? That would be hyper symptoms. If the opposite ... the surgeon may be right. What is a surgeon doing near your thyroid? Are they suggesting you should have it removed?
