Where is a good place to get Jarrows methyl B-12?

I ordered my B12 but they have since let me know it won't be arriving until the end of September! I have already run out and am not feeling great.

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy this from? I can't wait another 3 weeks!

That's where I ordered from but it's taken 2 weeks so far since dispatch! I need to make an order from somewhere else that might arrive in the next few days. I'm not sure I'm ever going to receive this one.

I know the Amazon one is cheaper, but I had the same problem, ran out and ordered from Amazon, and it took 2 weeks to arrive. I've ordered from yourhealthbasket before and it was faster, but worth calling them first I think.

Oh, I know. It's always the way This will teach me to leave it so late to order more! I can't believe how badly it has affected me not having the B12. There just isn't enough in the B complex.

That's certainly worth considering. I am still kicking myself for not looking into this sooner. The thing is, I was so depressed when I was told my high MCV was no cause for concern that I didn't question it (so unlike me!) I wish I had. I think it may have caused permanent damage. Oh well, at least I'm on the right track now

Carolyn, its interesting to note that you were also fobbed of with a high MCV being nothing to be concerned about, the same thing happened to me and neither the doctor or endo have picked it up in 18 months. Makes you wonder where they were trained!

Hi Helvon, do you have an issue with low vitamin B12? What have you just been diagnosed with?

Generally I think people seek out infusions privately when the standard treatment of HydroxoB12 injections doesn't work for them. It's an expensive option, and is usually followed up with regular MethylB12 injections. It works for some people but not others.

It is best not to take any B12 supplements until you have had your levels tested. If low you may need other antibody tests to check for pernicious anaemia. Have you had it checked? You also need good levels of folate and iron alongside the B12.

thanks for your reply hamster i have been prescribed folic acid some time ago but i am having horrendous side effects to levothyroxine and having blood tests tomorrow and i dont know if they will test for b12 . i am diagnosed with hypothyroidism and just trying to understand everything about this horrible condition and saw an article on infusions and wondered what it was.x

Did they test your B12 before giving the folic acid? Why did they put you on it? Folic acid will correct any signs of macrocytic anaemia in the blood thus masking a B12 deficiency. Also, you shouldn't need to be on high dose folic acid for a long time, a deficiency is corrected quite quickly and then you might only need a maintenance dose (which you can get from a good B-Complex, preferably with a more active form of folate such as metafolin). If the doctor refuses to test your B12 level because your full blood count (FBC) is normal, you need to point out that the folic acid which they prescribed corrects haematological changes thus masking a B12 deficiency.

And note the big blue warning box under the section headed "Management". You also need to rule out things like Coeliac Disease as a cause of deficiency.

Brilliant! I shall order from them then. I'm already feeling rubbish. The B12 in my B complex doesn't seem to be anywhere near enough to keep me going.

Hi, I ordered mine from nutricentre.com and it arrived on the second day after I ordered (and I didn't choose express delivery or anything). It's a bit more expensive to get them from there than amazon, but does seem to arrive quickly.

Hi I have just in range b12 would I benefit from 1000 or 5000 strength please

I can't really advise as I'm not medically trained, but I can tell you what I did. I bought a bottle of the 5000mcg and took those, one a day, until it was finished. I then switched to the 1000mcg tablets and took 2 a day for a few weeks. Then I went to 1 a day and that seems to keep me well
