Several weeks ago i placed an order with the Mexican pharmacy for more cynomel. After checking on the progress of the order the other day as my supply was getting very low...the order never went through properly and i was never informed of this. So I now have only 2 tabs left.I usually take 75mcg. I do however have some NHS T3 (20mcg) and was wondering whether or not i should start taking these instead.I am also taking 50 mcg levo. I am aware that the action of this t3 differs from cynomel, so i am after some advce about doing so...or not! Thanks in advance....K x

Is your order now being sent? Just asking as I've recently had a delivery and it arrived very quickly.

babycatcher, Is the NHS one stronger or weaker? Obviously it is a different strength for each tablet, but if you were to somehow manage to split tablets to an exact equivalent, i.e. 75mcg, would that be less or more effective? I have heard that Dr Lowe said that the Mexican Cynomel is the purest, but I don't know how the strength compares.

As you know, we cannot give specific medical advice, we can only put a point of view. In your shoes I would be inclined to take the equivalent dose of the UK T3 and see how I felt. The best thing about T3 is that not only do you know quite quickly how it makes you feel, but if it is a bit too much, it clears the body quite fast.

I hope this can help you to make a decision. I personally would not want to be missing my medication for an unspecified length of time, I would end up feeling terrible and take a while to get over it.

Your right Marram,The mexican is the purest form of t3 and will give you a hit lasting a few hours and the nhs stuff leaches t3 out through the day , so im not sure how it will effect me, so my plan is the start gradually and build up. I definately donnot want to go without for too long.....K X

Hi Marram, do you have a website with info were the Cytomel from Mexico is purchased ? I have asked dozens of people from dozens of different sites, but no-one ever replies. I also wondered , is their still safe passage for the drug to enter the UK, or might it be opened at Customs ?

Your reply so appreciated, thank you Margriet.

I read with interest your post Babycatcher7572. I had been taking Mexican t3 under the advice of Dr.P. I was still un-well, but better than when I was taking Levo' and Armour. My G.P. knew I was taking T3 and said that if my Endo' agreed he would prescribe on the NHS, so for the past year have been on the NHS supply and not feeling any different with varying doses. During the NHS shortage of T3 a few months ago, I decided to use up my Mexican supply, and have felt tons better. I am nearing the end and will then go back to the NHS supply. I intend to chop up the tablets to make roughly the same dose. I would be interested to hear how you get on.

i have run out of cynomel now, so this morning i have taken 20mcg....i will see how this goes and let you know. It is said that the mexican stuff is the purest you can get . It also works differently...the nhs stuff is longer acting thro the day whereas cynomel will give you a hit and last approx 4-5 hours. I am just wary of taking 75mcg of the nhs stuff all at once! K xx
