Has anyone else noticed any difference since taking the T3 that they obtained during or just after the shortage or is it my imagination? It's just that I feel much more tired and I am sleeping longer than I usually do.

T3
Yes, I did feel a difference. I decided to use up the t3 I got from Mexico, and am feeling much better for it. Who knows what is in the T3 we are currently getting from the NHS.
You haven't mentioned the brand S, but my experience from late 2011 has been that one brand that ran into supply problems was of variable potency. Mostly under strength, but on one occasion over. Despite this our local drugs board insisted there was no problem.
Yours may not be from the same company, but so far as I know our brand was sold to another owner - my best guess is that maybe there were problems with the new lot gaining control of the manufacturing process. Failing that they ran into problems anyway.
It could be that some searching might uncover information - problems were reported in more than one market. There also i think may have been something about in recent months to the effect that issues have been found with some of the standard tests used to determine the potency of product.
Switching to the Ti-Tre brand T3 we also get over here and Mercury Eltroxin (i only use 50mcg of the latter - most of my replacement is T3) late last year instantly and with 100% consistency resolved the problem - which to my satisfaction confirms that the problem was with the previous product....

I've just got a new supply of T3, mercury pharma I assume. I had been using the batches which had been flagged as suspiciously under-dosed and had increased my intake.
I am noticing on the new batch that I am getting the odd hypo. symptom back. I thought that I was imagining it but maybe not.
Are we the only ones who are suspecting the new mercury T3?
Hi Penny not sure. I didn't get any other responses so maybe we are just imagining it!!!

I've had problems with liothyronine since late last October. I had various batch numbers. At first I was very hypo so I'm convinced they were well under strength. My doctor decided I was hyper and made me reduce the dose. I then became very unwell and put myself back up.
By April I think the batches had improved and I was feeling better but not right. I had a couple of months of this then I had a problem again with a batch. It was very over strength and I became hyper. After a month, I got a different batch - expires Feb next year and I've been better. I've had this batch for a couple of months and have got it for at least another month. Things have settled down and at least I know it's going to be consistent.
I've had problems with vit D, B12 and ferritin being too low so it could be to do with that I've had problems but I really don't believe so.
I'm seeing an endo next week and I'm going to raise this issue with him. Don't know if it will do any good.
