Hi, Jackyc. It is true they are within normal range.
The question is, how do you feel? The T3 would be quite low for me, but if you feel well then you have got a good set of results there. However, if you do not feel well, then there is room for some improvement while still remaining in the 'normal' range. Are you still taking the citalopram? The point is that it can help a bit with the depression and anxiety but it is not going to make your thyroid work, of course!
Do please post saying how you feel, and then I or someone else can give you some more advice if you feel you need it. I suspect you are not feeling great, have you been given thyroxine yet or does the doc still think you are fine? I know you only have half a thyroid, was it removed due to Graves' or something else?
There are some on this site who feels absolutely fine with a TSH like that, and others who are very ill if the TSH is as high as that - how different we all are!
Look forward to an update on how you feel. Marie XX
Hi Marram thanks for answering my question. The reason I had a private test was because the doctor has done tests for thyroid but i wasnt sure which ones and what the results were only that they were in normal range so I felt id like to get my own full ones and post them on here to see what people thought. I had half my thyroid removed as I had a couple of nodules one of them being quite large that pressed on my wind pipe. I dont in general feel that well and suffer hat i would say were thyroid related symtoms, aching joints, tired, dry skin and hair, dry and ridges on my nails, bloating, depression, this can all come and go at times, citalophram masks the symptoms, i was on it for about a year them gradually cut it down but i went down hill again so had to re start it, I have no reason to be depressed really and am sure it's linked to thyroid. Doctor gave me a months trial on levothyroine 25 mg when I insisted i wanted a trial, I think he just gave me a low dose to keep me quiet and then said after 3 weeks i should have seen an improvement and stopped them. i dont want to take anti depressants for the rest of my life but i see no option if i cant prove my thyroid affects me, I dont know what to do next. Jacky xx
