Please help, I am always so hot and do not look forward to the hot weather.

I am always sitting front of a cold fan even in the morning.

I am the same I dread the summer and love the winter apparently being hypo makes you intolerant to the heat and I seem to be so much hotter than anyone else once the sun comes out and I hate it its just something we have to endure I don't know if there is anything that can be done and I would be interested to see what other people write.

I'm sorry I'm not much help and I hope u get the answers you are looking for.

Good luck

I'm the opposite. I've just stopped wearing a fleece in the house. I could just bask happily in the sun. Eeek! Perhaps I'm really a reptile.

Oddly enough, I think I sweat more when I feel cold than when it's hot and I feel OK.

I have been that way since I was a little girl.

Every summer I feel as though I am baking alive.

Sorry, I have no advice on how to deal with it, as I haven't found anything that helps.

...the thyroid is your thermostat - so when it is not functioning adequately it will not adjust to changes in temperature. I did not suffer at menopause with hot flushes and have always felt chilly. This continued even in the heat of Crete and last Summer I felt ghastly with extreme perspiration and yet my arms and body were cold to touch.

Consulted with others including Dr P and it was decided to wean me off T4 slowly - ( I was also taking a small dose of T3 ) Last October I went T3 only - I take 50mcg each day in 12.5 doses. Am pleased to report that so far this summer I am much better.....still become hot when doing chores etc. but my skin is NOT cold. Hurray !

Maybe this is a different condition to the one you are discussing - but it could be food for thought !

Horses sweat - Men perspire and Ladies glow !! :-)

Hope you are soon cool ! x

I know exactly what you mean!

Have been thinking that bamboo underwear may be the way to go having heard good reports about it. Problem is that they seem to be skimpy and I'm too fat for that!

I am the same. It is a fight with my partner as he closes the windows after I have opened them. It goes on all the time. I remember during those very cold winters when I still smoked I would go outside without putting a jacket on. I was freezing before being diagnosed but since medication I never feel the cold.
