Has anyone any idea if this antihistamine has any effect on T3? I have been taking it but I'm not sure if its having a negative effect on my absorption of T3.
Thanks

Telfast is a brand name. I'm guessing this is the anti-histamine fexofenadine?
Is there a problem with your actual T3 blood level that's making you question the effect of fexofenadine on T3 absorption? If you're going by symptoms rather than actual blood level, then maybe they are side effects of the fexofenadine?
The PIL for Telfast fexofenadine is viewable here:
xpil.medicines.org.uk/viewp...
Quite a few of the possible side effects quoted there could be mistaken for thyroid related symptoms:
Additional side effects (frequency unknown) which may occur are: difficulty sleeping (insomnia), sleeping disorders, bad dreams, nervousness, fast or irregular heart beat, diarrhoea, skin rash and itching, hives, serious allergic reactions which can cause swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, flushing, chest tightness and difficulty breathing.
Hi thanks for your reply.
I have fexofenadine from the chemist but previously I've had Telfast which haven't caused any issues. I believe since I've been taking this fexofenadine I've become swollen all over. I'm busting out of my clothes. This has only been over the last week.
I've spoken to the pharmacist a short while ago who told me its not a side effect but to see the doctor ASAP.
I've been blaming T3.
