Does anyone on here take Alpha Lipoic Acid - ALA. I have only just learnt a little bit about it, but I believe it can lower thyroid hormones. I really want to try taking it but am worried it may affect me because of the thyroid problem

I did and it gave me a thumping headache and made me feel terrible. This may be because of a phenol-sulfotransferase enzyme issue and I couldn't process it so it may not be the same for you. Hope you get some more answers! Barbaraj

Hmmm, I've been taking it and didn't think I had noticed any difference but I after a few months on a fairly low dose I have just felt the need to increase my thyroxine by half a 25mcgm tablet...........maybe a coincidence?
