Hi The T3 looks a bit low to me, so if it is to start T3 treatment, I would say fine. Otherwise it is very odd that it was not Free T3, I would check this with the Endo`s secretary If quick the Lab would still have your blood and do the correct test. it may be a mistake by the lab. Once I had that done by mistake for Free T3, my Endo said that it was useless. T4 perfect. TSH fine too but with that if not already on T3 with Levo, or on armour etc which contains both. Then perfect for taking some T3 too It lowers the TSH, it is higher than a lot of people like it. On the other hand good as you can have T3 treatment with levo, unless already on NDT ( armour etc) A lot depends on what treatment you are already on and how you feel.If you wish to reply to any specific post , ( you may already know), then click on "Reply to this" under that post.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Thank you Jackie. I rang the endo sec who seemed unsure but said that it was 'both free and total' but that yes, it was Free T3??!! Assuming it is free T3, what does that suggest? I currently alternate between 150 and 175 of levo every other day.

Hi She is wrong! Total is all T3, but does not show the Free T3 properly. The normally range for FT3 goes up to 6 at least.I know unless too high Free T3 my own private Endo thinks T3 with Levo is best. With 3 retests after 6 weeks on these drugs. If it was a private Lab at for the private consultant, then if in the last week,, or sometimes longer. I would phone them up, you cannot NHS , I have never, I use 4 Labs had this done , except as I said the once. They should, certainly if their mistake ,re do it.When I had mine done by Labs mistake and Endo said that it was useless, it came out like that but i had extremely low FT3 then.

Otherwise, send an e mail via secretary to the consultant explaining, I am sure it is a mistake. Messages secs get wrong, e mails privately they send on the same day.

Good luck!

Jackie
