so my yearly blood test.

Why for a start is only the TSH levels that have been looked at. My result was 0.15 the range is 0.4-5.5. What does this mean for me? Will my GP want to start messing with levothyroxine dose's of which I take 100mcg in a morning?

Please advise, Em

If he is an ill informed GP he might. But don't let him until he has confirmed any suspicions he has, that you are overtreated by checking that your free t3 is over range.

If it isn't then you aren't hyper.

I always found, when confronted with a GP who wanted to lower my dose that it was good to reel off the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, (fast heart, losing weight, high temperature, sweating, tremor) tell him I had none of these symptoms and assure him that if I got any I would be sure to let him know. At that point they usually give up and leave you alone....

Hi G - can I ask you something please? I recently increased my Armour from 2.75 grains to 3 grains and noticed after a few days that I had developed a slight fine tremor, but only after my morning dose. My pulse was a bit higher than usual in the mid to high 80s. My last ft3 was 5.8 (3.1-6.8) but this was on 2.5 grains. I still had som symptoms so increased. I have gone back to 2.75 grains, but wonder if I was over medicated or not as for example I was still constipated and tired? What do you think?

Sorry to hijack your thread chesterfield. Xx

Thanks xx

Hi clarebear, Did you have any other symptoms of over medication? I know the advice is to stay with a dose for several weeks before increasing it, how long did you stay on 2.75 for? Maybe you increased too fast?

Odd that you would get a tremor only in the morning..... Have you had your adrenals checked? I wonder if the extra dose was stressing them?

I know I had dire rear or a long time and it never went away until I sorted the adrenals ( I took hc for. 2 years)..... Maybe the constipation is linked?

Sorry I can only come up with questions..... You need to review what you are taking and how you are taking it.... Something somewhere will be wrong... All you have to do is ind it.

Good luck!

Thanks G :) I think I have sorted my adrenals with CT3M. I started that last June and it allowed me to increase from 1.25 grains, where I was stuck for ages. I very slowly increased to 2.5 grains by feb this year and felt great on this dose for a while and then symptoms started creeping back, so I raised to 2.75 grains. This felt good for a couple of weeks, then I went a bit mad and climbed 4 peaks in the Brecon Beacons in one day. Not surprisingly I felt a bit hypo 36 hours later, so increased to 3 grains. Maybe I only need the 2.75 grains normally, but need a bit extra if I do a bit (lot) more than usual?

I do usually get symptoms when I increase - it feels like my hypo symptoms intensify - headaches, tingling, vertigo (although these aren't nearly so bad since CT3M). This time though I had the headache for about 10 days and then the fine tremor and fast pulse.

I will stay at 2.75 grains I think and see how it goes. Feeling fine at the moment but 3 grains would be easier to manage as I have 3 grain tablets :D Thanks Clare x

Claire, have you had a cortisol saliva test recently? I know its possible to get the adrenals much better or even fixed with ct3m, but a lot of exercise, like climbing three peaks in one day ( nutter, :-). ). Would stress them.... So can a raise of thyroid hormone. Are you supporting adrenals with lots of vitamin c. And b vits? My adrenals seem fine, I no longer get the headaches or the dire rear. But if I do anything mad, like double sessions at the gym, or dental visits, or staying up all night. I take 5 mcg as a stress dose. I know its probably a lazy way to sport adrenals, but it works for me.....

The staying up all night is because my husband is into astronomy and I kind of get roped in. :)

Thanks Galathea, I feel fine and don't have any symptoms of being hyper. To be honest I was thinking of asking for Free T3, Free T4, iron, B12 and calcium zinc and magnesium levels seen as I take these supplements with the GP's knowledge. Not sure if I'd get them lol

Well don't be afraid to stand your ground with the doctor - and definitely Learn how to reel off the list of hyper symptoms which you don't have. :-)
