Was that a blood test? What time was it done? The cortisol is very low - way below the range. Did you have this done privately?

Hi Grey, thanks for replying. It was the adrenal stress profile from Genova using saliva.

8am was 5.3 12pm was 4.5 4pm was 3.9 1am was 1.6. I suppose overall it shows why i'm not sleeping and feel like i haven't gone to bed, which sometimes I don't. I'm wondering if my GP will take any notice of it. The results also give a clue as to the lack of response to levo etc.

Hi Helen,

Those results are quite similar to my last one. My GP doesnt take any notice of the saliva tests. Said NHS doesnt recognise them.

I started out taking NAX but havent used it for a while as im on steroids for the inflammation.

I hope your GP will take notice of the test.

Hi Angie, well we do have very similar symptoms don't we. Won't the steroids you're taking help with your low cortisol? Are you feeling any improvement? Xxxx

Hi Helen, only just seen this question,

Yes we do have very similar symptoms.

Dr P said when i saw him that the steroids would help rest my adrenals. To be honest i do not think i would function without them, They got rid of the feeling like i was falling over and do help with the inflammation.

Hi Angie, that's good the steroids are helping, you have to be careful as steroids thin your bones. I had 6 years of steroid injections into various joints and wondering if this messed up my adrenals too. I think i have finally realised that the diarrhoea and leg paiin has been adrenal insufficiency all along. Xxxx

Helcaster, no one has read your responses as you did not hit the "reply to this" link underneath their comments. This is the only way they receive notice from you, unless on their own they retrieve this page.

I can't understand why that has happened. I've been on the forum for quite a while and know how it works. I do have the distraction of builders in the house though!

I'm just keen to get some advice as i'm really worried about my low levels. X
