I have been on medication for an Under Active Thyroid since May 2012. It took a while but have started to feel normal and have even lost weight and managed to get to the gym!! However I seem to get a dry hoarse voice with flu like symptons on a regular basis! Since start of April I have had it twice, currently got a bout of it now! Any ideas?

It might be that you aren't on quite the right dose of levothyroxine. Do you have your most recent thyroid test details?
Also, have you had your vitamin B12 and D levels tested?
Get a copy of all of your TSH tests, and ask for the others ( B12 and D)?
I get the feelings of beginnings of a cold but then nothing else comes. I've had it 3 times in the last couple of months. Don't know why this is and it never occurred to me it was be aside of levo dose.
it could also be a condition called sjorgens which causes you to have a dry mouth and eyes, I have had it about 19 months now my dentist told me I had it, what helps me is boots do a mouth wash for a dry mouth and they also do a spray which is small enough to fit in a handbag
sarah, a hoarse voice is definitely a hypo sign. I thought it was due to a slight under dose after being on medication but now I wonder if it might be due to attacks on the gland itself. Have you ever had antibodies tested?
