Hi Tinker I have exactly those symptoms. Like you I've had all sorts of scans and investigations and finally a poo test, all negative. The doctor came to the conclusion it's continuing chronic IBS. I always have an elongated colon which doesn't help! I just get on with it now! I hope that helps, I know all this causes massive anxiety.
I have had awful pain in lower left groin. Sometimes it feels like a knife stabbing me. I thought it was decending bowel but like you nothing found in tests. I was refered to a physiotherapy as I have dodgy hips (not as bad as my knees) I told him all a out it a d he gave me some stretching exercises just approx 10mins a day. I was sceptical but will try a.ything. 2 months on I still get the pain but not so often.
I am sorry you have pain too . It’s awful ! Thank you for replying . When I had a sigmoidoscopy the consultant told me the procedure was tricky as I have a very loopy bowel . He didn’t comment on the letter post procedure so my GP dismissed it ! I’m sure this is a contributing factor to my constipation . It’s all very anxiety provoking . I hope you get some relief . I did my NHS Poo test which was ok but Gp suggested I do a GP Fit test as it’s more sensitive as I’m more constipated as normal . Just waiting for that result now … more anxiety !!
Hi again. Ibs is a terrible condition isn't it? It affects so many areas of your life because its so unpredictable no matter how hard you try to get it under control. Apparently a lot of ibs sufferers have loopy bowels, which makes sense. I really hope you get things sorted. Happy New Year!
Yes , I am having the same issue, had the pain over last few weeks.. my pain is predominantly left but can move.. I’ve also had nausea ( all over Christmas 😢) I’ve also got acid reflux and Post nasal drip )
I have had a sigmoid resection so that is an issue with unpredictable BMs but if. I’m not. Eating enough of the right food I get exactly the pain you describe. For a long time I thought it was sacroiliac related but one day, pain had got severe and was affecting my left ankle and a trainer at the gym told me it was likely to be bowel related so I needed to change my diet. I joined Zoe. Not suggesting you do the same as it isn’t what it used to be. I logged all my food, managed 5 different vegetables a day (could have been fruit but I’m diabetic) and 30 different plants in a week (this includes spices, nuts, seeds and herbs). I wore a CGM for a while to see what happened to my blood sugar relative to what I ate and that was useful. I read several books. In particular, The Glucose Goddess and Ultraprocessed People. I took to having beans, peas and lentils, full fat yoghurt and kefir, tried kimchi and didn’t like it but could drink kombucha - all the fermented foods. It all went contrary to what I had thought was giving me trouble. After a couple of weeks I felt a bit better. It was experimental and often went wrong but after four months I was pain free, lost weight, had more energy and felt generally brighter. Obviously I still had the unpredictable poos but they were properly formed and not hard. I realised I had more or less cut out meat but not fish and was using pulses, eggs and cheese as my main protein source. I would still go out and have a steak or roast if I wanted to. I had also cut out pasta and potatoes but more because of being diabetic. A year on and all was well. Then I had to go on a family holiday to Malta where we ate out every night and lunches were bread based. I was fine when I was there but on returning I resorted to ready meals and started having bacon breakfasts every day. Wow! Was that pain back with a vengeance. So I bought Dr Ruby’s 3-2-1 cookery book and got my husband to help me use it. It’s a catch 22 situation because when you are in pain, especially standing up, you have no energy to shop for and prepare vegetables. But it worked. I realised that roasting all the vegetables at once in a large pan is the easiest way. Then add whatever spices/seeds/pulses/proteins to a portion of that big roast to reheat in the microwave means only having to cook properly a couple of times a week. They can be frozen too - useful for backup if no time to prepare. Worth a try?
