Hi everyone. I have recently been getting a sharp pain in my right groin. My GP is suggesting it could be caused by my ibs. Anyone else had this problem?

Groin pain
Hi, I have really bad left sided groin pain, went back to doctors yesterday and he is convinced that is related to my IBS/divaticultus, he gave me some Buscopan to try and ease the cramps and pain, he is also arranging another colonoscopy just to be sure, but I must say after taking the medication for the day the pain has eased, so maybe it’s worth a try along with painkillers. Wishing you well
Yes, I'm sitting here now trying to cope with it. I have had it for some years now but unfortunately have no answers on how to deal with it.
Hi, I too have pain on my right side, I not exactly sure what causes it as no tests have ever given an answer but I feel it's linked to my IBS 😒
I find that this is related to the ileo caecal valve with is on the lower right hand side of the abdomen in front of the appendix. Care needs to be taken to look after this as it can lead on to appendicitis. Usually the quality of food passing through this valve if its not properly digested can lead to it getting grumpy and inflamation. Pain can be referred to the lower back as well and a whole host of symptoms on the right hand side of the body including stiff neck, tennis elbow, RSI, tender balls of the feet again all on the right hand side of the body.
Thank you for the info. Can this be managed by diet and if so what foods is it best to avoid? I have already cut out gluten and most dairy.
Yes it can and if cutting out certain foods do not make a difference, then there is a deficiency in the amount of stomach acid and or digestive enzymes. I find that adding cider vinegar to a little water and drinking this prior to eating (ie immediately prior) helps to activate digestive enzymes and boost possibly failing levels of natural stomach acid. Stress inhibits the production of HCL in the stomach which leads to food not being digested properly and causing problems further down the digestive track ie in the small intestine and around the ileo caecal valve ICV. So try this first before altering any other food stuffs as it doesnt matter what is excluded if what does go in is still not digested properly
Yes but I get it mostly on my left side sharp stabbing nerve pain....
I have this, ive had a abdominal and pelvic ultrasound scan and a colonoscopy and the only thing these showed was a lot of gas! So i think thats what causes mine. Nothing has helped it so im just living with it.
