I finally have somewhat of a diagnosis having gone through a colonoscopy, some biopsies, and sophisticated testing of the biopsy material. The diagnosis is ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s. Not sure if it’s one or the other or both yet. I was started on four large cabinets of mesalamine in the a.m. And to make sure constipation is under control. For that I take a tablespoon of MiraLAX a day.
At Christmas dinner I was feeling really well because BM‘s had been managed properly. I had Christmas cookies. A for me. And then good sized brunch of an egg casserole and French toast. Nothing to drink no coffee.
Came home with intense belly pressure. Made sure I drank about 16 ounces of water. I was up every hour on the hour urinating with an intense pressure to do so. then I had three spread out over the of about four hours. Where the pressure on my bladder be relieved. But I am on the couch totally wiped out with fatigue and just saying to myself. “you’re a piece of work“. I am blessed for having a good day with my grandchildren, but paying a big price for it today.
I am unhappy with my new Gastro person who appears to be the expert in the. She does not return calls but only sees you at regular visits. I have a visit with her on January 7. anyone have a connection with constipation and urinary urgency as well as pressure over the bladder? I have all kinds of and everything else is except for UC/Crohn’s. That is at the very end of the colon and and only shows as mild inflammation. To say I have no quality of a gross.
I am sure I am not the only one who tried to pretend to be normal yesterday feeling less than. Merry Christmas.
