Hi, I ma not sure if this is the correct group to post but cannot find an alternative one.
I am a 48 year old male, vegetarian and healthy diet. I exercise regularly and drink lots of water. I have recently started to take fibre supplements as I dont think I get enough.
For the last two months, I have suffered the most terrible pain in my backside. I believe it to be a haemorrhoid as I can feel it.
It hurts all the time. The pain is almost unbearable.
I know people can have these for years.
I have tried all over the counter creams, anusol, germaloids, suppositries and nothing has worked.
Can anyone recommend anything else? I have seen some adverts online which has caught my attention but I am dubious.
Appreciate any help
Paul

I have had haemorrhoids for years. Although they are painful for a while after a BM, the pain passes. I find sitting on a flat ice pack helpful. Sometimes a couple of paracetamol if needed .
A few years ago I went to the GP who referred me to a consultant. He recommended surgery, but I decided against it. I had another consultation over a year ago and that consultant told me I had a small mucosal prolapse from the rectum. Surgery recommended again and I again decided against.
I would recommend that you go to your GP for an examination, if you can, to find out exactly what is going on with your rear end. I have heard of fissures and it could be this.
Sorry to hear about your suffering, has the hemorrhoid actually come outside, as you say you can feel it, is that what you mean? In which case, have you tried pushing gently on it till it goes back in?
Hi Steve. Thanks for the reply. They are not external. The little blighters are just inside the anus. Only small too. The pain is excruciating and uncomfortable....
Ooh! The little sods!!😀 I'd also definitely recommend a trip to the Doc's just to check that is definitely what they are, but if not, not enough liquids throughout the day, rather than diet or exercise, is usually the problem, as it can be very easy to think "Oh I've had afew drinks, that can't be the problem" but usually, it is not enough, and always difficult to keep remembering to drink (in fact, just writing this post has reminded me I need to have another couple of drinks, NOW!!). Anyway, wish you the very best with the little swines!
I’m sorry your suffering. I’ve been in the same situation and the same pain. Nothing worked and I was in excruciating pain. But I’m good now.
I saw an excellent colon rectal surgeon who after examining me discussed options. His advice was to have the haemorrhoids banded. He explained that of all the procedures It is the lowest risk and straight forward to do. The banding is effectively a very tight rubber band that cuts off the blood supply to the haemorrhoids and after 10 to 14 days they have shrunk back so much that the band falls off when you have a bowel movement.
It’s uncomfortable for the first few hours after the band is put in place but certainly bare able.
I really would recommend the procedure as it worked for me. Your GP should be able to refer you. But if you decide to go privately I’d still ask your GP for a recommendation
