Hi everyone. Does anyone have any tips for a loud stomach. My stomach seems to not only grumble very loudly when hungry, but even more so for a couple of hours after eating. It can be quite embarrassing when you are with clients and having to constantly apologise! I was diagnosed with IBS some 20 years ago. Thankfully, I am not affected anywhere near as much as some of you but would be interested to know if anyone has any tips.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

If you are hearing a repititive wooshing sound, this could be your MMC (migratory motor complex) running. This sweeps food waste from your small intestine into your colon when you are fasting. If this is the case, it is a good thing since it effectively giving your small intestine a clean. It is recommended to leave gaps between eating to allow this process to happen rather than snacking all the time. I suppose one test would be to have a snack before you think it might happen to see if it stops it, though as I said, it is a good thing to happen (if that is what it is).
I also had a lot of gut croaking, squeeking, sloshing and rumbling recently. It was like two alley cats having a fight in there! I've now been taking twice daily, probiotics, digestive enzymes, calcium/magnesium/butyrate from Body Bio (GREAT stuff) and about a teaspoon of metamucil every morning with lots of water. I'm doing a LOT better. The cats have gone back to sleep. I think the overactivity in there is from intestinal imbalance...the sounds are saying "help me". Your gut biome is jacked up and needs to be fed the right stuff to start working right again. Best wishes to you, from another old guy across the pond.
