What is your experience (positive / no change / negative) with Saccharomyces boulardii (yeast) probiotics to treat IBS-D ? I would like to try it, but I am a bit uneasy: I used to take Saccharomyces boulardii (as Florastore) long before I developed IBS-D to prevent traveler's diarrhea when I was visiting Latin America, and I have a suspicion that it eventually caused a very strong bout of diarrhea, though it is impossible to know for sure.

Saccharomyces boulardii for IBS-D
I have taken it, but it didn't cause me any problems. As far as I know, it is supposed to help IBS-D.
I take it when needed to protect myself against antibiotic associated diarrhoea and it seems to be helpful for that (and there is science to back this up). Plus eventually I find it constipating so might be helpful for IBS-D. Results will be different in everyone, so as always with IBS you have to do your own experimenting.
Do you take that and Alflorex or drop the later when you need to ?
If I need to be on antiobiotics I take SB alongside the antibiotics and continue with Alflorex at least 2 hours from each antibiotic dose. I don't take SB as well as Alforex normally.
If you go away do you carry on with Alflorex too and do you still get flare ups with it ?
