I was diagnosed with severe IBS which I find hard to believe, I have had IBS since 1980 and it has never been this bad, over the years I had 9 children and recently I have had prolapse prior to which incontinence, I have been in a lot of pain since 2019 and my calproctien levels are over 2000, I had prolapse repair and the pain has got a lot worse and I am still inncontinent, I am on so much medication I rattle!! They have also put me on oramorph, the pain is constant and never goes away, I am so stiff and sore in the morning it takes over an hour to move, I can't walk very far without being in severe pain. I am over weight which probably doesn't help but I am fed up with it all now and even wonder why I live.

Help and rant sorry
Hi mummy09, so sorry to hear your pain. When you had your repair did they use mesh? Only ask as I have a prolapse consultant said when mesh used and put in via vagina sometimes problems such as pain and infection.
Sorry to hear of your recent isses. Have you discussed with gp whether you may have fibromyalgia, as this may cause the stiffness and soreness, and also can raise calprotecton levels .
That sounds a lot to cope with. I would get a second opinion on the prolapse repair and incontinence, especially if your surgeon is not following up on it. And get a SIBO breath test to rule out overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine causing your IBS, as there are treatments for that. You can get one via a gastroenterologist or naturopath, or buy one privately, eg through Genova Diagnostics.
