Flagyl ( Metronidazole) Side Effects

Hi my friends, I was given Flagyl to treat my digestive system after an episode of food poisoning but this medicine caused a lot of annoying side effects like heartburn and bloating. Did any one had this medicine and how did you feel. Many thanks

yes . I was also given Flagyl for my first diverticulitis episode 10 years ago in the ER . Although it’s a very valuable medication in terms of treating lots of bacterial infections.. but I have to say that I had the most awful experience with it .. such as excruciating headaches and eye pain .. dizzy and nauseous.. so my GP then quickly switched me to Amoxicillin clavulin after 3 days . In my experience , Flagyl was not for everyone.. as it was really hard to tolerate. Hope this helps

Thanks Gennie for sharing your experience as it really has terrible side effects. I am suffering now for nausea which is too bad for me and can not stand it. It is my second day and still have 3 more days with agony. 😭

So sorry to hear that . Maybe your GP can change this terrible medication for you .

I dont think so because I am on the third day so 2 more days to go,,
