Hello, my consultant has suggested doing a re-section of my small bowel to help my IBS C.
Has anyone had this operation and if so, did it make a difference?
When I have a really bad flare up, after about ten bowel movements, bile in my stomach goes up my oesophagus and I can’t stop vomiting bile until I’m put on a saline drip for dehydration.
All advice greatly appreciated.

I am not sure where you are based but bowel re-section for IBS-C seems highly unusual and not normally recommended. Also vomiting bile isn't a normal sign of IBS-C. Here is some info about possible causes (although one of them does state constipation):
Massive thank you for your information, greatly appreciated. Will be looking into the details to see if I can find out what my condition really is.
I was in hospital on Monday with another episode of bile vomiting and discharged today. The bile vomiting did not stop until I had saline drip (4 bags this time).
Unfortunately, the doctors do not know what is causing this and consultants still saying it’s a combination of IBS C and IBS D.
