Hi all, Im going for cataract surgery next week on my right eye. I’ve been advised to do very little for the first 4 days. Also that I’m not to bend over or lift anything , not to strain or cough to hard for about 4 weeks.
My concern is that although I take daily laxatives, linzess and Movical there is still a certain of amount of straining , plus bending over. Has anyone else had a cataract removed? How did you cope?
thanks

That is an interesting question. I also have constipation problems so I understand what you mean. I'm not sure what the answer is, but I would definitely ask your doctor. x
Invest in a "squatty Potty" or make your own. That will raise your knees while sitting on the toilet and you won't need to bend over. They can be brilliant for putting your body in a natural position for more easy defecation, and can be very helpful if constipation is an issue, helping the colon to empty in a better way.
Absolutely no problem ! I had cataract surgery in March, have severe IBS C and take loads of laxatives. But for years I’ve had small folding plastic stools, very cheap from Amazon, which make a huge difference, about 9 inches high.
