Hi.

As someone who has had to manage IBS for the last seven years, then the symptoms you have described would suggest that you have digestive issues. However it is worth checking with your GP to discount any other health issues that could also be attributed to the symptoms you describe.

Take care. x

Hello MountainHare1,

Thank you for your reply. It was my dietitian who suggested my symptoms were down to digestive issues (amongst other symptoms). My GP did a few checks like listen to my chest and took my blood pressure but other then that he wasn't concerned. He said there's nothing wrong with my heart.

That is so good to hear that there is nothing wrong with your heart etc.

Something else to consider that might causes the symptoms you describe is experiencing anxiety and stress which in turn can then lead to digestive issues!

Both stress and anxiety can cause lots of issues for people who have IBS but can be managed successfully so that the IBS can be alleviated/reduced.

Hi, yes sadly I have those symptoms too. Yesterday had sweats, nausea, stomach pain and dizziness along with abdominal cramping. Fortunately they have eased today. Omeprazole can help with stomach discomfort but otherwise I just make sure I drink plenty of water. I also use peppermint tea to stay hydrated and ease bowel spasms.

Hope you find something that works for you. X

I get the symptoms you describe the stomach spasms can affect the vagus nerve which can cause these 'orrible sensations don't we just love IBS !!!

The Vagus Nerve. Learnt so much about it. I had so many symptoms in the past. Sweats, chest pains, stomach problems the lot.

Over the last two years I’ve been blessed to have every health check. Blood tests, brain scans, kidney functions, even bone density, endoscopy, I was surprised all the results were very good. I’ve really learned to listen to my body.

Often when I wake up early I feel dreadful. This sounds crazy but if I have a good poop , even if it’s at the irritating time of 4am I feel a lot better, a lot of my original symptoms originated from ( how can I put it ? ) my arse 🙀

i used to feel better after a poop too but things have changed over time and now it;s the opposite IBS loves to out manoeuvre us, so interesting that the disruption between brain gut and vagus nerve can cause so much trouble !! it affects my mood too if a "flare up" lasts too long I go into the rabbit hole of anxiety and fear all good fun !
