Rectal prolapse - Constipation. Laxido

Hello. I have a rectal prolapse - like a tomato which comes outside my body. I get constipated and been given laxido. It was working well, but I am now getting liquid which bypasses my prolapse. I took the last one six days ago. I have soft motions and now this liquid. I also have a leaking bladder so wear pads. I am worried that this bowel trouble will not clear up. I keep going to the loo to check. I am doing pelvic floor exercises. I am getting stressed and thinking I would rather be constipated!

I am wondering how long it takes for the laxido to stop causing these problems. Can anyone help please? I would be most grateful. Thank you.

Hi, I had an operation for a Rectal prolapse about 10 years ago in UK. I have been ok since then. X

Thanks for replying Lin1944. Rectal prolapse is horrible. I got mine from when I was caring for my husband, with all the lifting etc. I was told I could have an operation, and a bladder repair at the same time, but having just lost my husband, I felt I could not cope with it. Things are so bad here in Scotland, and hard to see a doctor. (I have been waiting four years to have my cataract done!) I will have to get in touch (If possible) with my doctor again. I am pleased you are OK since having your rectal prolapse done.

I have suspected internal rectal prolapse, had them before. In my experience AND from good books, I suggest you may be overdoing the Laxido which can liquify stool. The prolapse may need treating as mine have been previous.

Hello gussmithy. No, the last dose of Laxido was a week ago! . I am glad that your prolapse fixed. That is good news.

I think I may have rectal prolapse, it's like a grape size lump that comes outside, I can push it back OK , but I get this wet sore feeling although I can't detect it being that wet.

Hello Ronnieboy. That could be a rectal prolapse, it is good you can push it back in. Mine is like a red tomato! Horrible. Do you get any bleeding? Also, it could be piles. They are similar to a prolapse. I don't know how long you have had it. I do the pelvic floor exercises which helps, you have to pull yourself in, as if you are trying to stop yourself having wind! I know it sounds not nice, but the exercises do help. It would help if your muscles could pull it back in, rather than pushing it back in. Take care. Briar Hill Cat

There's no bleeding whatsoever,it could be piles it's nowhere near as big as a tomato. I've had the lump for some time but only recently have I had any symptoms like this sore wet feeling. .thanks for the info I will try the exercises.

That is good that you do not have bleeding. Has it always been sore and wet? The things our bodies go through! I am sitting here doing my pelvic floor exercises. You have to pull yourself in and hold for a few seconds and keep doing that, and then you can get to the point where you can hold yourself in for longer. You will be able to see it on the web, which will help. Take care
