bloating
Can be, but can also be anxiety and any one of a number of other causes. Consult a Dr is best.
Thanks I think it’s a flare up
Yes, sometimes an acid stomach that comes and goes can be a symptom of IBS. From what I figured out myself from my own experiences, symptoms are often more likely in the upper stomach area when there is some kind of constipation going on. Not always, but that can happen.
My fast gut transit slowed down for a while once just a bit, and I was relieved at first to have normal bm's! The occasional day a tiny bit constipated but not worryingly so.
And then a couple of days later got an acidy feeling in my stomach and a bit of heartburn.
As soon as my gut flipped back to working faster (for some weird cause I couldn't understand) the acid stomach stopped, but it was back to too-soft stools again.
So are you a bit constipated?
I often find that just a tweak in my diet can move a bit of constipation. As my gut is sensitive, that mustn't be too much, so I'll add brown rice to my dinner, or some carrots, beetroot or more greens etc. at those times and the effect is quite gentle done that way very carefully. I never take laxatives though.
As already said, it could be a number of things; even acid reflux will give you these symptoms. It is better to see your GP as they will advise on what to do. If it is IBS there are many OTC meds to help with bloating etc..
