I hello I have had suspected ibs for years and my stomach has never been the best .In 2018 I had my gallbladder taken out which then made my stools more loose and sometimes diarea but made me more regular which I did not mind as I hate constipation. I take lanzoprazole for acid reflex due to no gallbladder I take peppermint capsules once or twice a day when I remember with food but lately my ibs has flared up and I am after recommendations for any probitics or something other members take which help with ibs symtoms any suggestions would be grateful thankyou

It might be worth getting all the standard tests done through your GP since your symptoms have changed recently (even if you have had these tests in the past). Here are the tests:

nhs.uk/conditions/irritable...

Since you have had your gall bladder removed, it is worth also getting tested for BAM (bile acid malabsorption) for which there is separate treatment. It is possible that your flare is caused by BAM and not IBS. If so, BAM medication will sort that.

If you are not suffering from BAM, then you could give Alflorex probiotic a go, which helped me the most with IBS. Good luck.
