Do you ever get different types of stools in the same bowel movement?

I suffer from IBS-C or perhaps M. I’ve been on 3 different antibiotics due to a kidney infection and UTIs that just didn’t go away. After that battle, my bowels were the worst it’s ever been. I’m on Alforex since the second prescribed antibiotics, I’ve been off antibiotics for 17 days now and I’m still experiencing extreme levels of trapped gas, type 6 stools mixed with pebble. But sometimes I have normal healthy looking stools now but ends with a type 6, I’m very confused. Is this colitis? C.diff? Something else? Has anyone had this experience post antibiotic use? Thank you so much 🥰❤️

Yes, I do, think the term is overflow, you get a stool stuck in the bowel (c) and behind is watery stool(d) flows over it. As regards Colitis or C diff you need your GP to get tests done for you. I always get an upset tum after antibiotics but it normal settles down after a few days.

Hello

Yes, sounds familiar to me, I can have normal BMs for a regular time, then suddenly it all changes. It can be 3 or 4 different movements at the same time, it's weird. This can last 2 or 3 days before it goes back to normal. With me, it all seems to happen when I get anxious spells and lots of other symptoms with it.

I was in hospital in March, came back with some sort of UTI. Six different types of antibiotics since, still not sorted. Surviving on probiotics, don't want any more antibiotics, had bad reaction to last one. Stools different every day, a mixture of everything! Pain throughout digestive system most days, so annoying, it really does impact on your life. I am under a lot of stress though, that really doesn't help.

Massive doses of antibiotics to keep me alive is what caused my IBS. Any antibiotics since then have reeked havoc in the gut. I'm now antibiotic by intravenous only. Works a treat, but a pain in the butt to accomplish with injections every 8 hours. Doesn't half cramp the life style, but leaves me far better off in the end. My Dr's now know to prescribe probiotics when ever an antibiotic is administered.

Antibiotics are in-discriminant and damage the gut flora balance.
