Woken up

This morning with severe nausea, oh boy do I feel rough, I’ve taken all my medication but nothing has worked, I must stress that I am in antibiotics at the moment for an ear infection. Only been in them since Sunday, had them before but was ok on them, do you think it could be the antibiotics. I feel so rough with a bad stomach, nausea and a metallic taste in my mouth, any suggestions please, I’m desperate

If you’re hoping to get rid of the nausea which I’m guessing you are, I’d recommend trying something with ginger or mint in as they can help alleviate it and maybe just try eating small amounts through the day of bland food and staying hydrated and resting. Hope you feel better soon!

Aww this is all you need coming up to Xmas only thing I could suggest is ginger tea or biscuits or get a anti sickness band to wear on wrist sorry couldn’t be of more help x

Ask doctor for some cyclizine. It's ok for nausea. Doesn't work so well if you're being sick though but they can inject you with it if you can't keep it down, works a treat then xxx

Hi vicklou , thank you for your response, I’m already on anti sickness tablets, but to be honest I think they aren’t working as I’ve been on them a long , it’s the nausea that get me the most and the reflux is a nightmare, just want a break from it all to be honest. Can you buy cyclizine over the counter???Take care and Merry Christmas xx

I'm on Lansoprozole for reflux and that is kept under control with that plus the cyclizine as and when I need it. I don't take it all the time. What anti sickness are you on

Hi ling, I’ve been on this medication about 3 years, it doesn’t have the desired affect anymore, that’s why I think I need a change of medication. Are you taking them?

My mom used to take it for acid reflux. It worked like a treat for a short while, but after that took much longer before it worked.

But the worse thing that happened after she had taken it for some time, on an on off need to basis, her right hand which very occasionally tremors (due in part I believe to a family history of Parkinson's), the tremors got much worse.

We decided it wasn't worth the risk to continue with with the metoclopramide.

I think if it isn't working as well any more for u, it might just as well be best to look for an alternative.

Best wishes.

Ps. I truly empathise with u. I recently experienced for the first time nausea from my IBS and it was simply horrible.

Simple answer, yes. Antibiotics can make some people feel really sick. Contact your doctor explain your symptoms and ask for a different type.

Hi there, it sounds more like a virus/bug to me: the sudden nauseas unrelated to food consumption that doesn’t go away ... give rest in bed a try , metoclopramide and freshly squeezed lemon ..did you actually throw up this morning?

Hi there, I’m already on metrocolprimide, nausea is my main symptom of my IBS but that was a particularly bad bout, I don’t throw up just heaved a lot and felt like crap. It has subsided somewhat but is still there, I think I may need a different anti sickness tablet as I have been in these so long and feel that they no longer work. I’m having a duvet day and hoping it will pass. Thank you for your kind reply
