i had an xray a few weeks back which revealed i had a hugely loaded bowel, as i only had a bowel movement once or twice a week and it was very hard/painful to pass. ive started laxatives (dulcolax) as prescribed by my doctor and they seemed to work for a few days, meaning i had a lot of bowel movements. since then, my stomach has felt off and its been really hurting all day. my question is why is this happening now my bowel has emptied but not when it was loaded? my stomach felt full and uncomfortable before but was never painful like it is now.

Mine is always painful too after emptying my bowel. I take it that its caused by the colon shrinking back to size, or that my bowel is hyper sensitive
Anythjng that helps your bowel to get activated invariably irritates the bowel lining to a greater or lesser degree so it will probably take a couple of days to settle down. It’s why constipation is so difficult to resolve permanently. I hope it eases soon.
You might want to look into an osmotic laxative and/or stool softener to take more regularly. I've found that makes me more regular all around, so I don't have to take something like Dulcolax when things get really bad.
