hi all , I’ve got ibs and diverticulitis, have any of you ever tried to get holiday insurance that doesn’t require a bank loan , I have been quoted ridiculously high prices .My condition is stable and I know I will have to pay more but not as much as I’m being quoted any help would be appreciated.

I got an online quote where ibs was listed on the pre existing conditions (didn’t look for diverticulitis) quote was normal price but small print said to phone them.

I ended up phoning Post Office to arrange, they didn’t seem concerned about ibs, more concerned about any heart issues, but cost was about £75 for the year instead of £40.

Would probably have been better to fill in form online pay the £40 them phone up to check cover. They say they will refund if it’s not covered.

If you have diverticulitis that can be very painful and could present as a medical emergency. Diverticular disease is fairly calm and doesn't really cause much concern until one of those pockets gets inflammed. I've had insurance with stay sure without much inflation in cost. They won't insure if you're under investigation for anything though. Your bank can also offer insurance that is affordable maybe worth contacting them.

him, thank you for your reply ,we had insurance with staysure but they wanted an extra £400 on top of the annual premium of £275 to cover diverticulitis and this was way out of my price range .But I did find a different insurer who covers it and it was a lot cheaper than staysure .
