Take incontinence underwear with you, and if you are on a train, plane or coach, there are loos on board. If you are travelling by car, use motorways so that every 20 minutes or so there is a service station for you to use, or plan your journey via McDonalds, betting shops and supermarkets, as these all have loos. What the hell, go and enjoy yourself, and let the IBS be damned.

Hi I’m the same as you constantly worrying about travelling. When I do travel not to stop the rest of the family going. I take 2 Imodium tablets night before to calm it down and then another 2 couple of hours before I fly. My normal flights I have to do are 13 hour flights as I live in a different country to my family. If I get really anxious my gp gives me 0.5mg of Xanax which I take half of that before I board the plane. It’s only a tiny amount but enough for me to not stress about flight. Hope this helps. Go and enjoy yourself with your grandchildren. Have fun x

Hi! Had the same problems last May 2019; had to go to French Polynesia (not an easy journey) for my friend's wedding. Until the last moment I didn't know if I would have gone or not, but in the end I decided to go ... Unfortunately I had little ibs d problems during the whole vacation, but with the right medicines (like buscopan or diosmectal) I always managed to control the situation. I thank God for having decided to go, because it was really worth it despite the situation ... if I hadn't gone, I think I would have regretted it for life!

Hey I am also going on vacation tomorrow. Don’t worry. I would plan ahead. Have an emergency kit of medicine on you and go ahead and enjoy your vacation. Making memories is very important.
