Hi..just looking for a little advice please...every holiday I suffer from Ibs...probably due to rich food and alcohol which I now try to cut down on...anyway I take Imodium plus which works but I was wondering if I should take Imodium in a small dose before symptoms even start?...does anyone else do this and does it work?...thanks in advance x

Every holiday? Does it even work like that? I've though once you have ibs you always have it affecting you. But that might just be me. And if imodium helps, I'd say go for it. It's rare finding things that do

I take immodium sometimes without having full blown diarrhoea. I ALWAYS feel like I want to go, so sometimes take it in the hopes I can avoid going back to the loo. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Not sure you should take it with alcohol though!

Thank you...I might just try it on my next trip...in the past when I have taken it I go on a 3 day cycle on holiday then it flares up again...watching what I eat and drinking less alcohol certainly seems to help but I never get away with an ibs d free trip 😟x

It might also have something to do with anxiety

Thanks ...but I don’t think so...It’s definitely food and drink related...if I didn’t enjoy food and drink so much on holiday I’d probably be fine...but eating and drinking are a huge part of my holiday....it’s just the curse of ibs d that goes with it can spoil a day or more of my trip ☹️X
