I've had IBS for around 8 years (I'm 28). I didn't have sex with my long term ex boyfriend as birth control didn't agree with me and I'm very diligent about it in general. Recently, however, after over a month of seeing someone new, we've started to sleep together. We had sex for around fifteen minutes last night and it was very rough. I started getting an uncomfortable pain in my bladder but as I've not had sex consistently in so long, assumed it was just that. As soon as I got up though, my ENTIRE pelvic system was in excruciating pain all night. My bladder muscles, (tmi sorry) my anus area and all that region. It wasn't constant just stabbing all over. The bladder & anus pain dispersed a little today but moved to my stomach and has been in a constant bloat/dull ache all day, to the point where I'm a tad concerned. My appetite is fine, I've had no d* but I'm a bit constipated. Is this an ibs thing? We've only had sex twice, the first time being last weekend and I felt 100% fine after.

Ibs after sex?
Hello! Pain during sex can be for lots of different reasons (constipation, thrush, lack of lubrication, anxiety, uti only to name a few) and it could be Ibs but defo best to go to dr or nurse to rule out anything else ! If it is your Ibs then the dr can help with that by treating it which should help with the pain!
I would go see your GP. It could be unrelated to IBS.
I have IBSD and have to be careful, but I am gay and there are obvious implications!
Hi my dear, if the sex is a little rough it definitely won't help, it will send all the abdominal muscles into spasm.I had similar issues when I went to the gym and over did things or go running.
I have to take a ibs relief med to relax the abdomen before anything strenuous.
Hope this helps.
Anything like buscopan
Hello, I am 27 and I often notice a stomach ache or a bit of discomfort depending on the position or how rough it was. Sometimes I can be a little constipated for a couple of days after too🙃
Have you been tested for endometriosis? My sister has it and I think I may too. This type of pain in common with this condition. It also can cause bowel issues similar to IBS. I am pushing for more tests for it.
It could be a number of things Cheesecake from not being relaxed to poss Endo. But it just may be because it was rough you have irritated the bladder and surrounding organs. Us ladies have all our bits in the same area which doesn't help🤔if you are still worried a trip to your GP would be in order
