Anyone else think lettuce produces terrible wind discomfort, especially in the stomach?

Bad gas after lettuce?
Lettuce is mostly insoluble fibre. Maybe that's what gets to you? How are you with other insoluble fibre foods? Lettuce used to be one of my 'safe' foods, but I've found my gut isn't as good the next day after eating it now. That's happened fairly recently.
But I don't know if it's related or not. A couple of months ago I could also eat raw watercress, but recently every time I've tried it it's caused a flare . I think we change....either that or the flare was going to happen anyway unrelated to the food (which happens with me sometimes)
I've heard iceberg lettuce is sometimes better but I haven't tried that yet
I'm not good with salad my intolerance test mentioned lettuce so I'm presuming it's that! 🥲
Yep! My issue is with iceberg lettuce
I've given up on lettuce, as much as I have always enjoyed salad. Lettuce and cucumber don't like me now. Tomatoes OK.
I was OK with lettice. Now not so sure. Also OK with tomatoes.
Thank you everyone, that’s interesting. Recently I’ve had Little Gem lettuce, as that was the only one available, prefer Iceberg. Maybe the toughness of the leaves makes a difference. Also ,of course, I do like a little mayonnaise with it and I think that sometimes affects me. I will have to do some elimination AGAIN!
Yes. I cannot eat salad . Most raw veggies are difficult for me to digest. I usually steam carrots. I can eat bell peppers in moderation. Amount seems to be relevant- eating no more than a =bout a cup and half of food at the time seems to be helpful. I have extreme bloating and trapped gas if I eat a lot of anything. Good luck! Beh
