Hi

So I have wrote on here a few times and being struggling since last November (following my Covid booster). So after months of trying to rule out things I think it’s Gluten, I have tried my best to just eat gluten free and yesterday I had a really good day and for first time in months felt a bit like my old self. However I woke up this morning with the worst abdo pain like trapped wind could go to the toilet then managed to go had a decent type 4 BM. Then about 2 hours later I was getting the worse stomach cramps and having to run to the bathroom at first doing nothing but feeling was going to explode. An hour later that happened was like overflow then like a plug came out then type 7 (all the time being in the toilet at uni, felt so embarrassed). After that I ve had cramping all afternoon/evening proper feel like need to run to bathroom but nothing and feel if try and pass wind going to follow through and have an accident which has never happened to me before.

I have not been taking an laxatives for about a week been having a daily BM apart from yesterday so not taking laxatives if don’t need them but feel like I need to go.

I don’t know why I have been like this today not eaten and gluten so now am thinking is it gluten causing my problems.

Sorry for ranting just gets you so down.

Get your doctor to test you for coeliac; you need to know for sure if you really do have a gluten intolerance! It is a blood test but has to be requested - will not be part of normal bloods done. I know a lot of people go gluten free anyway with IBS and they find it helpful, but if you tried gluten free and are not getting any relief, then it is unlikely to be from gluten. Sounds to me like you are in an IBS flare. Are you under stress? Stress will make things worse. Watch what you eat and maybe write a food diary for a month to see if there are triggers.
