IBS and Kidney Stones

Has anyone with IBS had to take Potassium Citrate mixture to try and prevent further production of Kidney Stones. It is known for upset Stomach and D. I have been prescribed this mixture and have been taking it for about a year now and seem to have much worse IBS D symtoms after a main meal.

Just wondering if anyone else on the forum has any experience with this .

Will1234, as an alternative to potassium citrate, consider for kidney stone concerns magnesium, boron and increasing water consumption. In addition to these links, familiarize yourself with boron and the various forms of magnesium and do further research. Adequate magnesium is needed to activate thiamine. Search on "IBS thiamine" for more info. Always consult your health care provider before using any supplement.

Will1234 your welcome. Also search on "nothing boring about boron" for a good introduction." krispin magnesium" has info on things that cause you to loose magnesium.

Hi Will1234.Sorry you have trouble still with kidney stones .

I hope it hasn't flared again .

Maybe discontiue the potassium for a while see if it's the problem?

I hope you are well otherwise.
