I know that as soon as we present certain symptoms and the regular tests like stool sample, upper GI scope, colonoscopy , stomach scan, etc. show nothing the diagnosis is IBS. Then what? Trial and error -seemingly mostly error. I have had IBS symptoms for years with no real help. Then I got Covid Nov. 2020. I should mention, I also have lupus and other health issues. The Covid made my intestinal and sinus issues much worse. I am still dealing with them - chronic diarrhea, choking sinus drainage, no taste, smell. I have been referred to an immunologist and just wonder if anyone has gone through testing for histamine intolerance or mast cell activation. I am also anemic. Any help would be much appreciated.
Healing hugs.

Sounds like this is the next step for you. Histamine intolerance is not something many professionals consider but it will at least rule out a problem. If you still draw a blank then yes, it is IBS which takes many different guises and for many is as bad as having IBD (I know as I have both). Interesting you mention Covid - on the crohns and colitis fb forum someone just posted on a possible link between Covid and gut issues becoming more severe...no doubt this has caused many with IBS to have the same. I hope you find the answers you need. x
Thank you so much for your response. It was information on Covid that the histamine connection was mentioned. Then recently I reacted with one of my worst moments after eating sauerkraut . I looked up reactions to sauerkraut and it is linked to histamine intolerance along with a few other things I have been questioning . Never a dull moment. Thank you again.
