Help! Diarrhea, left shoulder pain, nausea

Hi! I am experiencing chronic diarrhea almost on a daily basis . It is accompanied with severe, burning left shoulder pain, nausea, sometimes fever and back pain. I am wondering it Aflorex probiotic could help. As I also have lupus, I am never sure what is causing what. I do know that in 2020 after I got Covid, it seemed that this seemed to be triggered. I also read about pancreatis and the symptoms could be similiar. Or is this typical IBS-D.

Thanks.

Healing hugs.

Have you spoken with a doctor? Or called 111?

IBS in itself doesn't cause fever. Something else might be doing that. or some infection?

I admit I don't know very much about Lupus, so maybe what you're feeling is connected with that? I think you need advice from a doctor at the moment.

Probiotics are useful when needed but I can't see them being helpful as any kind of medication for this.

Thank you for your response. I am going to see a new rheumatologist soon and maybe he will have some thoughts.

Thanks so much for responding. I am seeing a new rheumatologist in a few weeks and will see if he has any opinion. Can you have left shoulder pain with IBS? The fever could be from lupus.

Healing hugs.

IBS can definitely cause "referred pain" (where the pain is felt in another part of the body apart from the gut) But many conditions can cause that.

I hope you're feeling better soon. Healing hugs to you too x

Hello,

Sorry to hear about health struggles. I'm wondering have you ever been tested for gut dysbiosis like h plyori and small intestinal bacteria overgrowth???

Have you had all the standard tests run to eliminate gut conditions other than IBS (which is how IBS is diagnosed)? This involves blood and stool sample tests via your GP:

nhs.uk/conditions/irritable...

There is a medical article here that discusses the fact that COVID-19 can act as a trigger for IBS, but you'll need all the relevant tests mentioned above first:

Google FODMAP. There are certain compounds in foods that can cause ibs. There are apps that can tell you what to eat to avoid an excess of these compounds that can exacerbate ibs. Helped me a lot with ibs

Go to the emergency room, it could be your gallbladder or pancreas. Go now.
