hi all, this website has been of great help to me! I'm not sure if I've asked this or something similiar before but I suffer from the "morning rush" almost daily. I very rarely have actuak diarrhea. But I empty my bowels at least 4 times from 6 am to 2 pm. It's usually solid though, maybe a little loose occasionally, sometimes thin as well [though not pencil thin.] Does anyone else's IBS present as this?
I've had a clear colonoscopy, ultrasound and blood tests. Thank you

Hi, I often have the same as you. I don’t know why though! Some days I do have diarrhoea, usually because I haven’t been careful enough about what I ate the day before.
I am also new to this site too. My IBS is usually in the morning too. I always put it down to your stomach relaxing when you are asleep and then the moment you are awake it springs into action, sometimes a bit too much action. I am always aware of my stomach during the day, sometimes I wish it had an off switch or even a pause button.
I have similar issues if I eat lactose. Not sure why, as in I don't understand the process or why it happens but it always does.Try keeping a food/symptoms diary for a bit to see if you can spot a link
The generally accepted "norm" is anywhere between 3 stool movements a day and once every 3 days. You are just outside the "normal range", so I wouldn't have thought it was too much of a problem, especially if the movements are not diarrhoea (which probably explains why your tests came back normal). Spare a thought for people like me who have had 14 movements in one day, and a period of 10 days without any movement at all!😆
