Loose Bowel Movements: Hi Folks, Posting this as... - IBS Network
Loose Bowel Movements
I would say that if ever there's a symptom that's new, or worries you, then there's no harm in asking your GP.
But if you've already been diagnosed with IBS, and especially IBS D, then loose bowel movements of all sorts do kind of go with the territory.
But there's always a chance your doctor could prescibe something to help, so follow your feelings.
I had similar problems & changed my diet, No spicy foods, Decaf Coffee etc & have been ok since but i have been diagnosed with Crohns
Well I hope you get some help with your problem and I understand that when things are really bad that when you got loose poop it can be very hard to get to the Doctors ad they can be so unpredictable and you can be frightened of the stuff coming out all the time so perhaps you could get a phone call and explain what's going on before trying to go and see them in person OK so I would try that 1st !!!! but take care & look after yourself as best as you can !!!x
Unfortunately this is IBS & it does change symptom wise. I will get times of IBS ( D ) then be constipated & can get a couple of weeks when it is completely normal. Is there any blood? Are you loosing weight. Does it get you up in the middle of the night? Try to get a telephone consult with your GP for a chat.
Hi, I had that for 2 weeks . My doctor just prescribed mebeverine and peppermint oil capsules. Going through a horrendous flare up atm . Please see your doctor. Wishing you well
Hi, They don't seem to be working at all. Thank you ! No not really 100% at all . My doctor Is clueless too.
Wishing you are well !
Hi, they didnt help me either, i would have been better taking nothing. Im taking Alverine now which has helped a little.I've came to the conclusion doctor's are not the least interested if you suffer with IBS.
Best Wishes
I'm glad that you feel a little better . I have not heard of Alverine, my GP's advice was to take probiotics for 3 months , I'm trying anything at the moment. This has to be my worst flare up , since being diagnosed 10 yrs ago . I pray you find relief 🙏
Hope you get some ease in your flare up. If you want you can mention Alverine to your doctor, i know all medication doesn't work for everyone. I know to well how it's feels to suffer a flare up and no one understands unless you have IBS.Hope you get some relief soon, Take Care.
