Hi I was wondering if anyone else suffers with migraines who also suffer with bad ibs-D. I have recently started getting these migraines and they last for days at a time. I am also going through the change at 50 my periods are all over the place so maybe it could even be hormones 🤷♀️ It feels like someone is tightening a belt around my head. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Headache
I know there has been some negative publicity about it, but HRT was a game changer for me. Might be worth asking your GP about it.
Good morning Junkjournal1, I’m so sorry to hear about your headaches… I can relate very well… and wonder if my experience will help you to relieve your headaches too.
I make sure I drink my usual number of regular daily drinks PLUS a large drink (mostly water) every time I have diarrhoea - I also take Dioralyte - (as per packet directions) - to replace the lost water and salts in my body (available in chemist/supermarket).
In addition I have hugely (a gradual process) reduced my caffeine intake - and this means I don’t get ‘caffeine’ headaches - which I got when I just ‘stopped’ drinking coffee/caffeine - The reason I did this was because drinking hot coffee, especially in the morning, seemed to be a factor in increasing/worsening my pain and diarrhoea - This has really helped!
In a nutshell increased fluid intake has been very positive in significantly reducing my headaches… I must say - I actually feel ‘generally better’ having increased my clear fluid intake and also reducing my caffeine input - so that’s an unexpected - but very welcome bonus!
I hope at least something in what I’ve shared with you helps - I wish you the very best of luck - kindest regards - Lorna the Crazy Penguin Lady x
