Yes I’m always tired. I struggle with sleeping too, I fall asleep ok just can’t stay asleep . Dizziness is my worst symptom at the moment, headaches come and go but recently they don’t seem to go which then sets my anxiety off

Same here I thought I may have iron deficiency but my last test was ok .i feel off balance and have insomnia for couple of years a few times I’ve thought I was dying from racing heart then feeling like I’m gonna faint and the muscle pain ? Well I feel 90 🤣x

I’m only 47 but recently feel 97, I had bloods taken in February and all came back fine , If I can cure my dizziness and have good night sleeps I’m sure I would feel in control of myself, I know menopause causes anxiety so that’s probably why you had a racing heart but I’ve also been rushed to hospital with a racing heart and dizziness and they said then it’s all anxiety and I need to try and control it, I do try just not easy all the time x

in reply toDizzypants

All my symptoms came at 49 and I’ve felt awful ever since and yes the dizziness is awful even when I turn over in bed I get it. X

Same, they say laying down helps when dizziness but it don’t with me, my periods are still the same are yours? as my dr said until my periods change it’s not the menopause but my dr is a man lol

in reply toDizzypants

My periods have got closer together sometimes every 2 weeks and the fact you saw a male doctor says it all 😂x

Do you ever get like stabbing pains in your head? Only lasts for like 10/15 seconds like .

in reply toDizzypants

Omg yes I do in random places all over the head !! Only lasts few seconds . Do you get really bad muscle pain too ? My back , arms , legs , neck , shoulders bloody killing me 😖x

Dizzypants in reply to

Yes all the time at the moment it’s shoulder and neck but it’s been my legs and lower back, I literally feel awful and just want a break or something to help with it, I gave 2 younger children well 12 and 10 and feel I can’t enjoy time with them as in pain 😢

in reply toDizzypants

I know how you feel my lower back went into spasm last year ended up bedridden 7 months on I’m still struggling . From what I’ve read the hormone changes affect oestrogen in the joints and muscles causing pain . So I’ve had in past 2 years tendinitis in both feet , tennis elbow now my back as well as gut pain I honestly wanted to not be here anymore but I’m a stubborn bugger and don’t want to make anyone’s day by not being alive anymore 🤣🤣😂x

in reply toDizzypants

You need to see a female doc to get your hormones tested it doesn’t matter if your periods are normal you can still get meno symptoms and believe me they only get worse !!!! 😑x

I was told they don’t do hormone blood tests if your over 45 and I’m 47 but will speak to a lady dr and ask well actually demand a hormone blood test, coz if I know it’s 100% due to the menopause it may calm my anxiety down.

Good idea I had a fsh test at 47 and again at 49 they never offered me anything except antidepressants which I started this yeAr . Perimenopause def can cause anxiety cos I have it too prob from all the pain I get everywhere even though I was fit as a fiddle !!just be persistent like I did x

Dizzypants in reply to

That’s what my hubby said a year ago I was fit and always on the go now I just ache all over or have head aches and stabbing pain nausea dizziness and just don’t wanna do anything

in reply toDizzypants

Same here I’m unrecognisable now I look bloody awful ! I have not seen a gp for 18 months and I’ve been in agony they just keep referring me for tests . I’ve had only a couple of hot flushes after my heart started racing then I felt faint then profuse sweating thought my number was up 🤣x

I am only 48 but when I had bloods took they said I was on the change as my ovaries was not working properly. Think the rapid heart beat must be apart of menopause as I had bad chest pain and a racing heart beat and went to a@e and they took the bloods and that's they told me my ovaries was dying

in reply to3443Ness

Same here I had chest pain too scared the crap outta me has to be the perimenopause was fine up until I hit 49 🤣x

I thought I was having a heart attack. What us women have to deal with it's crap 🤣

in reply to3443Ness

Your right there I def know somethings not right had a fsh test at 48 told me I was def going through the change ! I’ve changed alright into someone I don’t know !! My body hurts in constant pain and I can’t be bothered with putting make up on making an effort etc as my body has decided to be allergic to pollen , dust , shampoo and cosmetics . My skin itches terrible especially at night and my nose in particular 😂x

I had bloods taken when I went to hospital but they didn’t mention nothing about my ovaries dying and my dr said until my periods change in any way It’s not menopause so then that’s sets my anxiety off. Have your periods changed or stopped?

My periods stopped years ago as I use to have bad periods and I ended up having an endometrial ablation to ease them but they stopped completely. I new my body was in menapourse as I was having the hot flushes and other symptoms depression and emotional thought I was just premenopausal but they said I was past that and my ovaries was dying fast that was last year now just carnt wait until the menapourse ends but I know it could be years yet 😭

HiI had an early menopause, started a few months after my last pregnancy. I had no idea what was wrong with me at the time, but even had an ambulance called out to the school I was working at because of pounding heart- I was mortified!! Nobody thought to suggest it could be menopausal symptoms, kept asking me if I was pregnant. When my periods stopped- again lots of can you be pregnant from the gp. Migraines started up all the time. I was put on amitriptyline to try and calm them down. It was bizarre, I had a young child and in between looking after him was throwing up because of the migraines- doctors put me on anti depressants too. It took years for them to finally entertain the idea that it was menopause. The amitriptyline worked tho' to calm down the migraines. I feel for you all. Xx

Definitely! Especially when I have a wicked hot flash. I can feel the heat traveling up my neck, leaving me with a bad headache. Can't stay asleep, tired. And I am post menopause, but the sx continue, although the hot flashes much less frequently.

Hi, it's only now at the age of 57and through the menopause that I realise why I have felt so awful for the last 12 years! I now feel better in many ways. The symptoms people are describing are difficult to pinpoint to any particular cause, especially when we all lead busy and sometimes stressful lives. I have had some challenging things to cope with and always thought the way I felt was related to those, but now I'm convinced that some of it was probably peri menopause and menopause. Its only having spoken to my sister who is 3 years younger who had the sense to seek medical advice (she had to get a second opinion) that I realise that much of what I was feeling was the same. I sought help for anxiety, and depression but didn't connect the physical symptoms (probably because I had the lining of my womb removed when I was 43 so the obvious signs were not that obvious). My strong advice is to see your GP and outline all of the symptoms not individual ones as being connected to peri or menopause. When my sister was listened to, she was prescribed HRT and the symptoms were relieved within days. I wish I'd done the same and connected it all together.

Yes I’m calling the dr again tomorrow as I feel awful, I hate going out coz of the dizziness and headaches, my anxiety is not helping either, but the gp said as my periods are still regular it’s not menopause but it has to be peri menopause surly, if it’s not then no idea what’s going on but I’m nearly 48 x
