It does sound like ibs symptoms but could be something else. Have you been tested for gluten intolerance? What does your Dr. say?

Yes, sounds very much like IBS and seems you may have a problem with gluten as Tomuch mentioned. But you should get blood and stool tests from your doctor to rule out other things.

Hi.

Sorry to hear you’re suffering.

What you’ve described does sound like IBS but as someone else has said, it could be a number of things so you should go to your Dr.

They’ll likely run a number of tests and if they come back clear, then they’ll diagnose IBS - this has been my experience anyway!

From initial call to diagnosis was about 3 weeks for me. I do have a pretty good surgery though.

If you’re in the UK, have you been on the NHS site? There is some useful info on there while you’re waiting for results.

Best of luck 🤞

Trouble is there is so many gut/bowel issues you need to see a gastro consultant to get to the bottom of it. I was told for many years I had IBS. I had terrible diarrhoea. Kept a food diary to see if I could figure out what it was. Elimination diet etc. Finally got referred after years of suffering and had colonoscopy, biopsies, bloods, stools. Then had a thing call a SeHCat scan and was diagnosed with bile acid malabsorption. Which basically means the left over bile after digesting food should get reabsorped by the body, but mine doesn’t and reaches my colon. As it shouldn’t be there the body flushes it out hence the water, urgent diarrhoea. I now take binder medication. After 20 years of not being listened to I finally got diagnosed 4 years ago.
