pain increases when sitting?

male 55 not yet diagnosed with ibs but bloods good, Diverticular and ibd tested negative.

recently sitting for even a few minutes causes pain to increase on left hand side and out to my groin. and anus.

lying on my back with a heat pad on stomach seems to help.

does anyone else suffer this problem? what can i do?

I have this sometimes too. I have always attributed to my diverticular disease, and more recently to gynecologic issues. Seeing how neither of those are the case for you…I wonder what else it could be 🤔 I definitely sympathize though. It is very uncomfortable and makes me anxious and grumpy.

Hi if you suffer IBS C it could be proctalgia fugax mine only flares up when I'm really badly constipated and usually only at night and the only thing that eases it is lying on my back usually only lasts about 30 mins or until I've had a bm 😔 sorry I can't be more help I hope you get some answers.muschealth.org/medical-serv...

I have IBS but also I am waiting for an op, I have an inguinal hernia down on the lower left and get similar pains to you, it comes and goes depending on what I do in the day and also how my motions are. Lying down does see the pain go away generally so that might be worth talking to the GP about and getting a scan.
