anxiety in waiting
Freshly squeezed lemon water helped move things along when I first had horrible symptoms. Lately coffee helps but it is a gamble (can cause gas and pain). Raw vegetables (green salads) was recommended by a doctor and worked for my flatmate. Watery fruits should help too like papaya. Avoid dairy.
I agree with the other post, I'd look at your diet and perhaps increase your fibre if this is ok for you. Gentle daily exercise like walking or a cycle can really help too. Plenty of water throughout the day and yes lemon tea eases my tummy. I think your Dr has to refer you for a CT but your Dr could take a stool sample if you think you have an infection. Best of luck, waiting is soul destroying I know 💛
I will pm you some tips, though in the first instance did the doctor run blood and stool sample tests to diagnose IBS-C prior to referral to gastro? If not they should be doing this.
I have had IBS-C for a number of years and prebiotics were recently recommended to me. I take Bimuno, one sachet a day and they have helped. They are easy to take, you can just sprinkle the tasteless powder on cereal. You can buy it from any chemist. I hope you find some relief, it is a horrible thing to have.
