Having a flare up at the minute, thinking it might be hormonal. Had a build up of gas and constipation and it’s all just starting to come out but very uncomfortable as it’s all just coming out in little bits instead of all at once so it’s just dragging on. Usually though, I don’t suffer much with flatulence and I keep passing gas every minute and it’s quite smelly as if it’s been trapped in there a while but the only 2 things I’ve eaten different to normal are sardines in olive oil and cucumber. They are both low fodmap so I’m not sure if it’s related or just a coincidence but I never have them so could it be those making me gassy do you think? Or could it even be the fact that I ate 3 portions of vegetables in one meal yesterday when usually I only have one portion in a meal and it was too much for my stomach as it wasn’t used to it?

What’s causing this?
I am very sensitive to specific quantities of vegetables. For instance I can eat 9 sweet potato chips without symptoms, but if I have 12, I get symptoms. I am also trying out other vegetables and finding similar problems so I am needing to find out the level I can tolerate for each one. Certainly 3 portions of veg might do it, particularly if there is something in there that you are quantity sensitive to. Cucumber can also give some people lots of gas for some reason.
Hi there it’s prob the vegetables prob had too much there harder to break down in gut they ferment causing gas x
I know too many veggies can give me bad gas too. And yes, it is definitely worse for me when I'm premenstrual. I've never found any great way of getting rid of it except for letting it pass on its own and trying to avoid too many veggies or foods that give me gas. I also don't go by fodmap because I don't seem to fit any of the rules. Keep track of what you eat and when and see if a pattern emerges.
